We will focus on skills, ball handling and age appropriate training. We will use fundamentals to introduce our players to the Lacrosse Athlete Development Model (LADM) helping to ensure age appropriate rules that allow athletes to progress and reach their maximum potential.
There will be no physical contact at this level.
We will begin with SawxLax Training Balls which are soft but the same weight and dimension as regular balls. This will allow for less bounce, roll and opportunity for more touches. Once confidence levels have increased we will transition to regular balls.
Practice will be 2 to 3 times a week on Tuesday's and Thursday's with possible Friday or Saturday depending on player/parents availability.
Due to COVID, practice will be an hour and a half. The first half hour we will implement our Safety Procedures to help prevent exposure to our team. We will have one full hour of practice and as the season progresses our routine shall allow us to have more practice time.
